CONNECT Volunteers
Operation Christmas Child CONNECT volunteers work year-round to make the project a success in their local areas and communities. Various roles are available that allow volunteers to use their unique skills, gifts, and abilities. CONNECT volunteers are part of an area team which includes the following coordinators:
- Prayer: Pray for all aspects of the Operation Christmas Child project. Engage your local team in prayer by circulating praise and prayer items, and organizing prayer initiatives.
- Logistics: Facilitate the collection of gift-filled shoe boxes in your team’s area. Track participants and tallies, and arrange transportation for the shoe boxes.
- Church & Community Relations: Mobilize local churches to engage their communities in this hands-on project. Provide regular support and encouragement.
- Media Relations: Build awareness and encourage participation in the project by engaging the media. Connect local news media with Operation Christmas Child.
- Team Leadership: Provide servant leadership to an area or ministry team. Cast an inspiring vision, develop strategies for success, and hold team members accountable.
Depending on the position and time of year, volunteers will generally be expected to commit between one and 10 hours per week.
If you are interested in becoming a CONNECT volunteer in one of the roles listed above email occ@samaritan.ca or call 1-800-303-1269. Please tell us:
