Two faith-based groups say they have been given special permission to enter Fort McMurray early so they can be ready to help residents when they return on June 1.
Six chaplains from the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team are providing emotional and spiritual support to government staff and emergency workers.
The Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Response Unit Convoy, with shovels, tools, wheelbarrows, and personal protection equipment will be set up at Fort City Church in Fort Mac.
They plan to assist volunteers, who will use equipment on their tractor trailer to clear debris from properties and help look for family possessions that might have survived the wildfires.
