Pack Additional Shoeboxes for children in Ukraine!

Again this year, Operation Christmas Child Canada has committed to send 20,000 shoeboxes to Ukraine. This is in addition to the hundreds of thousands of shoeboxes we already need for our other receiving countries.

For most of us, it is impossible to imagine what it would be like to have our families caught in a war, but for tens of thousands of eastern Ukrainians, war has become a reality. Operation Christmas Child will be distributing shoeboxes again this year to bring hope, comfort, and the Good News of Jesus to the many children hurt by this terrible war.

We love how excited Canadians are to help Ukrainian people in their time of need. However, in order to make shipping as fast and easy as possible, please limit your donations to items that will fit inside shoeboxes. Thank you!

So please remember, if you were already planning on packing shoeboxes this year, pack shoeboxes for Ukraine in addition to your other shoeboxes as we don’t want to take shoeboxes away from our other receiving countries.

How to pack additional shoeboxes for Ukraine:

1. Use regular sized shoeboxes to pack shoeboxes for children in a cold climate

Canadians are master cold weather shoppers; now is the time to put your skill to good use. In addition to school supplies, hygiene items, toys, a personal note, and a $7 donation, include items such as gloves, toques, scarves, slippers, and socks in shoeboxes for Ukraine.

4. Make your minimum $7 donation
Please donate a minimum of $7 for each shoebox you prepare to help cover project costs--including shipping. Please make one combined donation for multiple shoeboxes.

Simply make your donation online or place your cheque or cash donation in an envelope inside your shoebox, on top of the items. If you make an online donation, you do not need to include the donation receipt in the shoebox. Tax-deductible receipts will be issued for donations of $15 or more.

5. Take your shoeboxes to a Collection Center during National Collection Week:
November 14 - 20, 2016

6. Pray for peace for Ukraine and for those affected by the violence.
