A child's life is transformed by The Greatest Journey program.
When friends enthusiastically told 10-year-old Ukraine resident Anyutka about classes they were attending for The Greatest Journey, Anyutka decided to go with them. It was a decision that transformed her life forever.
After children receive an Operation Christmas Child gift-filled shoebox, our local church partners invite them to enroll in The Greatest Journey. This dynamic, 12-lesson Samaritan’s Purse Bible study course guides children through what it means to faithfully follow Jesus Christ.
“Anyutka was quiet and sad in the beginning,” said Erika, the specially trained volunteer teacher. “But when she met Jesus towards the end of the program, she was transformed. She rejoiced, smiled to all, and was telling everyone about God.”
Anyutka started attending Erika’s church and youth meetings. There, she has learned Christian songs that she teaches to other children.
Anyutka’s new faith has had a profound effect on the people around her, including her family. Anyutka’s parents approached Erika about her church because they also wanted to attend. As the Lord worked in their hearts, Anyutka’s mother decided to get baptized.
Anyutka also invites her friends to attend church with her.
We give glory to God for how He is using The Greatest Journey to change so many lives in Ukraine, a nation in dire need of hope because of poverty and years of armed conflict.
God can work through you to change lives for all eternity when you support The Greatest Journey with your donations and prayers. Please join us so that children around the world will learn that “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16, ESV).
