As the crisis continues in Afghanistan, Samaritan's Purse Canada is using support from Canadians like you to care for vulnerable Afghans. We are assessing needs in the region to determine how our Disaster Assistance Response Team can best serve families desperate for help.
The world has been shocked by images of chaos at Kabul’s airport as tens of thousands of desperate people, including Samaritan’s Purse partners, try to escape the Taliban. Some of our brothers and sisters in Christ are running from place to place, trying to stay safe.
Samaritan’s Purse Canada is in communication with our partners and former staff on the ground to get as many people as possible out of this situation. Our efforts will continue even after the airlifts have ended.
Samaritan’s Purse has been partnering with organizations on the ground to get men, women, and children out of this horrific situation. Your partnership is vital in making this happen and providing for the many emerging needs.
We also have disaster response specialists working in locations where Afghanistan evacuees are temporarily staying.
Please continue to pray for the people of Afghanistan and all those who have been evacuated, many with just the clothes on their backs. Please pray that rescue operations will continue and that more people will escape to safety. Pray for God’s leading as Samaritan’s Purse continues to help evacuees and assesses additional needs for ongoing work.
