Did you know that every 37 seconds, a person in the developing world-often a child-dies from diseases caused by polluted drinking water? Most Canadians are unaware of this. That’s why Samaritan’s Purse has developed free resources for you, your school, and your church to learn more and do something about this preventable tragedy.
For additional lessons for grades 9-12, please check out our Safe Water Curriculum Lesson Package. These lessons were designed to impact a student’s world-view and hopefully encourage them to actively engage with the wider world and make a difference.
After consulting junior high teachers, Samaritan’s Purse has compiled a water curriculum for students in grades seven to nine. Adhering to government guidelines, the following lessons are downloadable PDFs which teach principles around water stewardship and water treatment. Students learn basic information and are engaged in challenging activities about water issues around the world. This curriculum not only teaches about initiatives that Samaritan’s Purse is implementing, but also helps students to think about water problems and how to solve them.
Samaritan’s Purse has developed five downloadable, activity-packed Sunday school lessons through which young minds can discover God’s desire for everyone to have safe water. These lessons are valuable resources for Sunday school teachers, children’s pastors, and parents who want to teach children how to help provide safe drinking water to people around the world. If you have limited time, consider using lessons one and four.
