By Lisa Gareau, Marketing & Partnerships Manager with Samaritan’s Purse, shares about her recent trip to visit projects in Costa Rica with Calgary and Edmonton Police Services.
As the saying goes, many hands make light work. And as we moved to complete a community playground in Alajuelita-a highly impoverished area outside of San Jose Costa Rica-we knew it was worth the long days and dirty hands. Both those that live in this community and its community leaders claimed ownership as they dug holes, placed poles, and cleaned each piece preparing for the arrival of the children over the weekend. With their strong faith and vision this new community space is in good hands. Light work indeed.
Please donate $12 for every shoebox you prepare. Your donations will help cover project costs, including shipping (make one combined donation for multiple shoeboxes). Consider making an additional donation to help Samaritan's Purse go beyond the shoebox and expand assistance to children, their families, and their communities. Samaritan's Purse does not provide receipts for the value of gift items included in a shoebox.
