As the Regional Risk Mitigation Manager, Affiliate Offices, you will be the primary liaison between the International Headquarters (IHQ) Security Department, SPC, and Affiliate Offices including UK, Germany, Australia, and South Korea. Your role will involve working with other risk mitigation team members to provide reliable and expert risk assessments and recommendations to SPC and the Affiliate Office leadership team, balancing the need to address Samaritan’s Purse global mission priorities with the long-term stability of programs and staff members. This role also involves managing complex relationships with diverse groups, including government leaders, United Nations officials, Canadian and U.S. embassies, military, police, other NGOs, and local village leaders. As an integral member of the Executive Team, you will help SPC carry out its mission and objectives through participation in daily prayer ministry.
The successful candidate will fulfill a full-time permanent position in the Calgary head office. This position includes benefits of life insurance, medical/dental and short term/long term disability and 15 days of vacation per year to start.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborates with IHQ Regional Security Directors to advise affiliate offices on risk mitigation strategy and implementation, ensuring ongoing communication regarding safety status, information, needs, and concerns in respective regions
- Facilitates essential risk mitigation training for SPC and affiliate office personnel prior to international deployments, assisting with scheduling and provision of training sessions
- Ensures consistency across safety programs, guaranteeing consistent coverage for domestic operations
- Supports in delivering risk assessments and advice to affiliate offices regarding the strategic placement and global assignments of Post-Resident Physicians and medical volunteers for World Medical Mission
- Assists in providing hazard assessments and assistance to Disaster Assistance Response Team members deployed from affiliate office countries, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations
- Assists with coordinating, arranging and supervising all security related activities with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada and other Affiliate Offices.
- Provides safety support for international Operation Christmas Child vision trips by affiliate office teams, ensuring the implementation of adequate safety measures
- Monitors and promptly responds to potential and current emergencies involving SPC and other Affiliate Offices
- Delivers quarterly regional risk mitigation updates, detailing potential threats and trends, requiring a deep understanding of security challenges faced by the organization
- Conducts comprehensive after-action review investigations after an incident has occurred with specific regard to IHQ and SPC’s policies and procedures, as well as legal and cultural requirements, and offers support to compliance and internal audit investigations as needed
- Responds immediately as the risk mitigation advisor for the DART or Incident Management Team anywhere when required
- Contributes to the development and review of SPC’s policies and procedures related to safety, particularly concerning deployment to or travel in high-risk countries
Qualifications:
- Qualified applicants must be committed to Christian values and precepts and be in agreement with the Samaritan’s Purse Statement of Faith
- Bachelor’s degree or five years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous experience in security management required
- Proficiency in the Korean language is highly desirable
- Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex and hazardous situations while managing competing objectives
- Proven capability to analyze and synthesize information to develop a comprehensive understanding of potential risk situations
- Ability to make prompt and accurate decisions in complex or uncertain environments
- Effective communication skills across socio-economic, political, and cultural contexts
- Capacity to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Strong verbal communication skills for effectively engaging with diverse groups of individuals
Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
- Valid Passport with no travel restrictions
- Ability to travel frequently overseas as required, approximately 100 days per year
