Providing Urgently Needed Relief in Lebanon
As conflict continues to impact the Middle East, more than 1 million people have evacuated southern Lebanon to the capital of Beirut and the surrounding areas. These displaced men, women, and children are living in school and community centers, some with relatives, and others living on the streets. Each one is trying to survive.
In response, Samaritan’s Purse has airlifted emergency relief, including tents, solar lights, blankets, kitchen kits, hygiene kits, and more. We’ve also delivered supplies for local clinics and hospitals to help thousands more. Through partnerships with local churches, we’ve given out 155 metric tons of life-saving food, as well as wheelchairs and diapers. Samaritan’s Purse has a long history of working in Lebanon. For over four decades, we have partnered with local churches to distribute aid and relief to families in need.
One of those who received help began weeping and said, “You didn’t lie to us. Everyone else takes our pictures and disappears, but you came back the next day.”
The Lord has opened doors for us to help hurting people in Jesus' Name in Lebanon during their time of need. The love of Christ compels us to act. Jesus said, "I was hungry and you gave Me food … I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me" (Matthew 25:35-36).

Hope for Ukraine
The war in Ukraine is the longest in Europe since World War II, and has displaced millions of Ukrainians. Since the outbreak of war in Ukraine, Samaritan’s Purse has been working with churches in Canada and across Europe to care for Ukrainian refugees.
Ukraine is also one of the longest-running international responses in the history of Samaritan’s Purse, as we first responded in February 2022. To date, Samaritan’s Purse has distributed more than 122,000 metric tons of food, pumped more than 120 million liters of clean water, cared for more than 20,000 medical patients, and handed out 1.1 million Ukrainian Bibles. Our cargo planes have transported 267 Ukrainian refugees to safety in Canada and delivered 910 metric tons of relief supplies.
As millions of Ukrainian refugees remain displaced, Samaritan’s Purse Canada has been working with churches in Canada and across Europe to provide trauma care. Our teams are engaging churches to present the Gospel through psychosocial trauma care support for Ukrainian refugees in many countries around the world. Using the programs "Upanchyk in the New Forest," "God's Hope in Crisis," and "Healing the Wounds of Trauma," as well as online sessions with psychologists, support will be provided to Ukrainian refugees through online classes, summer camps, and clubs for children and teens.
Additionally, almost 1,000 church leaders are being trained to provide psychosocial support and to implement a trauma-informed evangelism strategy. Within this group, emphasis will be placed on equipping Ukrainian church leaders with materials and resources to enhance their ministry impact.
Please keep these church leaders in prayer as they minister to their communities.
Ukrainian refugees in Finland and Estonia will receive psychosocial support, trauma care, and integration support. 470 children will be reached through three Christian summer camps and two youth clubs. An estimated 600 people will hear the Gospel message for the first time.
Ukrainian refugees in Germany will receive trauma-informed evangelism, Biblically-based psychosocial support, and trauma care. Approximately 300 children will be reached through four Christian summer camps and three youth clubs. 1,200 will hear the Gospel for the first time.
Ukrainian refugees in Italy will be supported through psychosocial assistance and trauma care, as well as Bible study groups and festive Easter events where they will hear the Gospel message.
Ukrainian refugees in Poland, in particular single women with children, people with special needs, and the elderly, will receive support, trauma care, attend summer camps, and Bible study groups. 3,000 will hear the Good News for the first time.
Ukrainian refugees in Spain will receive trauma-informed evangelism, Biblically-based psychosocial support, trauma care, and hear the Gospel message.
Ukrainian refugees in Canada will be provided with psychosocial support, online sessions with psychologists, summer camps, and clubs for children and teens. Three hundred will hear the Gospel for the first time.
Sudan
In April 2024, civil war broke out in Sudan. The ongoing war has since become the world’s largest humanitarian crisis, with over 13 million people displaced. Famine has been declared twice already. Samaritan’s Purse has been working in Sudan for decades, and we are currently distributing food, medicine, and emergency supplies. In December 2024, we airlifted an Emergency Field Hospital and staff members to bring further relief and hope.
Last year, our teams distributed over 15,000 metric tons of food, more than 660 tons of malnutrition-fighting peanut paste, and air-dropped 2,449 metric tons of corn, beans, and salt to feed 300,000 people in inaccessible areas due to weather conditions and ongoing conflict. Samaritan’s Purse is also supporting Katcha Hospital in Sudan with medicines, vaccinations, supplies, tools, and professional staffing. Over 800,000 people rely on the pharmacy for medication.

Gaza
Since 2023, Samaritan’s Purse has been actively providing life-saving aid to innocent civilians affected by the war in both Israel and Gaza in Jesus’ Name. Nearly 2 million people are hurting and in need of hope and relief. Our teams are working through partners to deliver food, clean water, shelter materials, and other critical supplies to families in need within Palestinian territories while also providing medical aid, trauma kits, and emergency food to Israeli families in need.
Since July, we’ve sent 12 relief flights with over 200 tons of ready-to-use supplemental nutrition pouches. First aid teams also set up at each food distribution with equipment and medicine. Our teams are treating infections, injuries, chronic diseases, and more, and have treated over 1,400 patients.

International Crisis Response
Samaritan’s Purse is ready to respond at a moment’s notice whenever and wherever disaster strikes. We specialize in meeting critical needs for victims of conflict, natural disaster, famine, and epidemics throughout the world, often working through local ministry partners to do so. We provide emergency food, water, shelter, medical care, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ.
As you partner with Samaritan’s Purse to work in crisis areas worldwide, people often ask, “Why did you come?” The answer is always the same: “We have come to help you in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.” Our ministry is all about Jesus—first, last, and always.
The story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37) gives a clear picture of God’s desire for us to help those in desperate need wherever we find them. After describing how the Samaritan rescued a hurting man whom others had passed by, Jesus told His hearers, “Go and do likewise.”
