God uses a pair of shoes in a shoebox to give hope to a little girl.
Daniella had a dream: “When I grow up, I want to become a doctor,” she told others. Most days, however, that dream seemed far off.
Daniella lived with her sickly grandmother who struggled to provide for the ambitious girl. She lacked many things, like school supplies, but most embarrassing was shoes. She was so ashamed of the tattered pair she owned that she often skipped school.
“Then one night, I had a dream,” Daniella reflected. “A very kind man gave me a pair of new shoes. He asked me to throw away my old shoes and to put on new ones. I woke up with joy. I had not gone to school for three days, but when I woke up, I ran to school.”
That day, a local church, in partnership with Operation Christmas Child, was at Daniella’s school sharing the story of Jesus. “In one picture, a man was on the cross. I was sure he was the man who gave me those new shoes in my dream,” Daniella said, amazed.
And then her amazement grew when she received a shoebox gift packed by someone like you. As Daniella lifted the lid, she saw the most beautiful sight—a new pair of shoes, and a gift of love that opened the door for her to learn about Jesus, God’s greatest gift.
